OddBox: Buying Fruits & Saving Our Planet

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children

Since I moved to the UK, I noticed that a lot of start-ups like OddBox, Too Good To Go and Olio, provide solutions to problems on food which affect sustainability. This is reflective of a society that is climate sensitive.

I found out about Oddbox through the post yesterday and after reviewing their offerings through their website, I have tried it and I am looking forward to getting a box from them.

I like that they are tackling the issue of food waste head-on by delivering vegetables considered ‘oddly shaped or sized’ by big supermarkets and surplus fruits vegetables to your door.

This helps the environment and farmers as it helps them get income from products they would have otherwise thrown away.

What I also love about OddBox is that when ordering a box, you get to know the amount of CO2 and water saved per box. As a #greenhorn, just entering into this space, it feels like I can actually track the impact of my actions lol

I appreciate brands that are transparent about their efforts to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainability and not just greenwashing with some keywords.

It is also important to note that good copywriting/design can go a long way in attracting customers and making a difference as that was what made me read the leaflet in the first place 😃

What brand or campaign has caught your eye recently?
